We were out on a day hike, further into the basin, when the punctual clouds started to roll in like they do. Lukas shot while they gathered overhead and when the hail started to fly we decided to head back to camp instead of waiting it out where we were. We walked quickly, much fast than when we headed out under blue skies. Still, when we made it back to camp the thunder was already rolling. I hurriedly knocked the hail from my boots that had been left out to dry and which were now filled will hail. We tossed ponchos over our heads and made our way down to the low point near our campsite. Crouching down near a big rock I watched the hail bounce down and listened for more thunder. The storm passed. My boots did dry out.
